The principle of ultraviolet disinfection is to use the high-energy band of ultraviolet photons to destroy the DNA and RNA structures of various viruses, bacteria, and pathogens in water, causing them to lose their ability to produce proteins and reproduce, thereby achieving the purpose of sterilization. The killing process of ultraviolet radiation is a physical process, and its direct effect on the genetic material DNA or RNA of microorganisms is almost unrestricted. Known pathogenic microorganisms can be killed by ultraviolet radiation within 0.1-2 seconds, indicating that ultraviolet radiation is one of the broad-spectrum disinfection techniques. Moreover, ultraviolet radiation does not add any substances to water bodies and does not produce any by-products, making it highly efficient, environmentally friendly, and safe. After UV disinfection, there is no secondary pollution or by-products, and the effluent can be reused for irrigation in farmland, forest land, or underground water injection, achieving resource utilization. Ultraviolet radiation is divided into three bands: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVC has bactericidal function, among which the wavelength of 253.7nm has stronger bactericidal ability. Generally, the evaluation of the quality of ultraviolet tubes depends on the efficiency of the output of this band.

Ultraviolet lamp
One of the core components of the ultraviolet disinfection system is the ultraviolet lamp tube. Our company's ultraviolet lamp tube is a world-class low-voltage high-strength ultraviolet lamp tube, installed in a quartz sleeve on the module, parallel or perpendicular to the direction of water flow. The effective working life of the lamp tube is 9000-12000 hours, and the maximum power of a single lamp tube can reach 250-320W. The ultraviolet sterilization lamp adopts imported low-pressure and high-temperature solid mercury alloy technology, ensuring a lifespan of 9000 hours.
quartz sleeve
The quartz tube is installed on the module bracket, with a UVC transmittance greater than or equal to 85%. One end of the quartz tube is a closed end and the other end is an open end. Through secondary sealing design, the protection level is IP68, effectively preventing water from infiltrating into the quartz tube and affecting the normal operation of the UV lamp. Using high transmittance (UVT) quartz tubing: High quality quartz tubing is selected to ensure excellent UV penetration and high-intensity UV output.
Electronic ballast module
Electronic ballast is the core component of the entire system, and the prominent advantage of the ultraviolet disinfection system is the stability of the electronic ballast. By introducing globally leading German technology manufacturing, it has instant high-voltage starting of ultraviolet lamps, efficient variable power output, and PLC microelectronic control ballast Dutch technology. The electronic ballast is installed inside the ballast cabinet or module chassis. Made of high-quality corrosion-resistant stainless steel material, the lamp tube and signal cable are sealed inside the disinfection module and will not be exposed to sewage and ultraviolet light. We provide various designs of 3 to 20 lamps per module based on different customer requirements for water volume, water quality, and sterilization.
Ballast cabinet: The cabinet has a protection level of IP55 and is equipped with air conditioning cooling inside to prevent dust and humid air from entering, ensuring stable operation of electronic ballasts.
The electronic ballast module is connected to the cross channel junction box, and the power distribution of the junction box is supplied by the central control cabinet to each UV disinfection module.
Automatic Control Center
The control system implements all parameters and controls through the human-machine interface, such as turning on/off disinfection equipment, fault inquiry, lamp running time, UV lamp working status, parameter settings, etc., to facilitate the operator's monitoring of the operation of the UV disinfection system and provide effective bactericidal agent dosage for the disinfection process.

The installation of the ultraviolet probe underwater is convenient for monitoring the scaling situation of the quartz tube and the intensity changes of the ultraviolet lamp.
Automatic Cleaning System
The effectiveness of UV disinfection is often greatly affected by the scaling on the surface of quartz sleeves, resulting in a significant decrease in UV intensity.
The UV disinfection equipment comes with a built-in cleaning system. This cleaning technology can automatically clean the surface of the casing online within any set time without affecting the operation of the equipment, with high efficiency and low friction without jamming, providing stable and efficient sterilization effect for the UV disinfection system.
The automatic cleaning system is driven by compressed air and linked with the ultraviolet light intensity monitoring device for automatic cleaning, and can easily switch between manual/automatic working states.
Water level control system

The water level sensor is an effective and necessary means of self-protection for the lamp tube. Due to its high power, ultraviolet sterilization lamps must be naturally cooled by sewage. When exposed to air for a long time and lit up, the lamp may burn out due to insufficient heat dissipation. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the water level in the open channel can submerge all the lamps. However, the ultraviolet transmittance in sewage is low, and when the water level is too high, it can lead to unsatisfactory disinfection effect of the surface water layer. Therefore, the water level in the open channel cannot be too high. The water level sensor measures the water level value in the open channel online, ensuring that the water level in the channel remains within the designed range. When the water level in the open channel exceeds the set small/large water level for a long time, it can automatically issue an alarm to the control system and turn off the light tube.
2Open channel water level control
